Hey everyone! I've been super busy with work and new projects!! I've been working on so much stuff I think its time to make a master list and start finishing things.
Where to begin! Ah yes, a woman I work with is attending a family party with a 50s theme. She asked me if I could make her daugther and her poodle skirts, easy enough? right, Of course I said yes....then today she comes into work and asks me how I would feel about doing 10 more. money in the bank people!! Excited!
Thats not until August.
C5...speaking of August is a go for Firaxan Squad (soon to be official clan) . Threkk Gellar and myself will be going with two other friends, who are not part of the MMCC but still love Star Wars. So thats a go.
Mara Jade shin guards are out of the molds. I re-casted them ..not sure if I'm happy with them or not. They still need some work. The Jumpsuit has been giving me hell. I'm thinking of just paying for a body suit.
I've been working on a Reccon helmet from Halo - ODST. its coming along pretty well, I did mess up on the size but i think i can make it work. I put like 10 hours into the helmet already and thats just the first thing to do. Next i need to fiber glass and resin the shit out of it. blah Maybe next week.
Those genrades I re-painted came out nice I'll post some photos in the gallery area. I've been quilting more, still working on that same yellow quilt tho. Its sure a pain, little by ittle and it'll be done.
i've been working on an Old Republic Jedi outift for the Rebel Legion, I was asking to troop with the 501st on Sat the 13th at that South Boston day Parade - St. Patricks day. But Mara isn't nearly done soo I'm going as a Jedi. Works for me.
My goal this year is to become a member of both the Rebel Legion and the 501st. Almost there. sooon.

Hello everyone! As you all may have know (if you looked at the upcoming events at the bottom of the right side bar) that TempleCon was this weekend, well we only went for Saturday. My boyfriend and myself went as Mandos, we got dressed in the parking lot (it was snowing lightly, awful) We were meeting AdamScottFM, hes new to the Mercs but he is a local 501st member, hes in charge of Public Relations. It was nice to meet and spend the day with him, even if we were just walking around and talking. Super nice guy!
We got an interview with Rhode Island Science Fiction Club (RISFC.org) nothing to big, just basic questions on the armour, locations of next events, what orgazation we were part of. Simple things. We gave him our card so he'd link us the video when it airs. When it does air I'l link it here too.
It was a good day, we just walked on in and no one said boo about it. Well with Scorch behind us I guess its abit intimidating.

Oh yea. Badass right?
Jb's kit needs lots of improvements...little things that we really need to work on now before he troops again. Mine? well I want to add two genrades (with blinky lights green and red), I also re-painted my pistols. Which I think I'm gonna keep as my photo taken gun. .. I mean I'm tiny and if I start carryin around a big gun with me. .. Idk its a thought.
Its easy to hand out cards when you don't have anything in you hand also.
Mercs News: We are one official member short of being a Clan. Soon though very soon. All together we have 13 members of Friaxan Squad, I;m excited at how much we have grown in the last month or two.
I've also started an account on the 501st New England Garrison (NEG) I hope to complete my Mara Jade costume by the end of April. The shin guards still need a lot of work.
I'm super excited for the armour party in March!! it should be awesome!!

Okay so yesterday I left off with the plaster of paris drying. Now I got the black resin cast from the same company as before. Also remember to spray the mold with the silicone mold release!!! IMPORTANT!
OKay so I got really really messy with the mixing. Now I mixed both equal amounts of part A and B stirred and poured into the mold....and kept turning the liquid into the mold until it became a solid which didn't take long at all. I did two layers to make sure it was thick enough...in some places aleast. hahaha
Please wear gloves, you don't want this stuff on your hands.
I set and cure time for the Resin was 15 minutes. ....So aftter 15 minutes went by I started to pop the black resin out of the pink silicone, which was hard with the plaster of paris keep it perfect. So I started breaking the plaster off of the silicone, it came off wicked easy. After the silicone was free of the plaster the black resin popped right out. ...and the silicone mold lied flat on the table.
There is a nice photo of everything so far. The mother mold (white), Silicone mold (pink), and the Resin cast (black) ....which came out a lot thinner then I wanted it to. But I was running out of product. soooo it'll do for now.
Some close up shots!! Not bad for my first time.!

OKAY TIMEOUT!
I was working on another project (STAR WARS) costume along with the shin guards!
Endor Rebel Soldier - oooh yesh!

Hello eveyone!! Last year I made a really crappy Mara Jade outfit....it was awful. Wrong everything! So this year I promised myself that I'd redo the outfit. re-boot it! hahaa. So I want onto the Rebel Legion's website and looked at the standards for a Mara Jade 'official' costume. Because if I'm going to spend all this time and money on the oufit I might as well join the Rebel Legion. PLus I want to get into both the 501st and the Rebel Legion.
So I started this months ago, with taking a casting on my leg. I wrote a blog about it....just look at the older blogs, then it took FOREVER to sand down to the smooth texture I wanted it to be. So Finally when I was happy with what I had, the whole project got put on hold....due to the holidays.
The next step was for me to purchase all the materials I'd need for making a mold and then resin to cast the mold. After the holidays were over I had watched sooo many videos...and read soo many papers/how to's on mold making my head hurt.....but I knew what I was doing...kinda.
I purchased all my materials from AeroMarine Products, they do have an ebay account. They also have detailed notes on what each item is and how to use it. Really nice products too. Here we go.
This is the smooth mother mold. I sprayed them with Silicone Spray Mold Release 3% / General -Purpose parting agent
I then mixed together my Silicone RTV Rubber and brushable catalyst (pink). I did two coats to make sure it was thick enought. Then let them dry for 24 hours.
After they dried I covered the top ith more plaster of paris to make the bottoms stronger, after that dried I poped the mother molds out of the pink silicone. It was tricky...I was trying to crack the plaster underneath. I did get them out nicley...After that I caked on the plaster making sure the mold didn't change shapes on me....the wooden legs are glued on with plaster to make it easier when it comes time to cast a mold. :3
Just a closer look at all the caked on plaster so the mold is strong enough to hold.
This are the materials I used to make this....the plater of paris isn't in the photo but I did use a ton of that in the making of the shin guards.
I will update with everything is dry and I go to make the Resin cast in black of the shin guards!!! I'm really excited to see what happens!!
Happy Hunting!

Hello hello! So I have some exciting news! If you didn't notice on the home page. I am the Squad leader of the Firaxan Squad which covers Southern New England. (RI,MA,CT) super excited and honored!! Being Squad leader puts me in charge of booking and finding events to go to. So far everything the Mercs are going to is on my event list down at the bottom of the right hand sidebar. Check is out if your not to busy!
Over the past few months my friends and I have been talking about Celebration V and weather or not we're going. Well three months ago I agreed to going. That if we went the only Cons we would be going to this year would be Anime Boston and Celebration V. Over those three months my boss has cut my hour, not by much but she said I might have them cut in half. ..This scared me and I stopped spending money. Only for gas and cat food (guen has to eat!) So with this on my mind 24/7 I took my friends that no, I can't go to Celebration V. I just wouldnt' have the money to go. Which sucked......Well guess who forgot about her Taxe refund....
THIS GIRL!
hahaha ooh yeah I totally spaced on the whole taxe refund crap!! Guess how much I'm getting back???! Guess?! Nearly 700$$ isn't that awesome!!? So Celebration V is back on bitches!! ohh yeah!
This does mean that I can't spend any of it till August or at least try not to! lol Which ever comes first. But Im super excited and happy b/c I really really want to go and next time it comes around it might not be in the USA.
Okay so on the the next topic. Anime Boston 2010. We have about ten Mercs (unoffical and official) going this year which is a great turn around from the three people we had last year. Hell two other mandalorians went and none of us knew each other. Now we're all good friends. We are not going to have a table this year, next year we will!!!! Next year we will be more organized and ready.
I've been working on the two comission I've received. jedi robes and a flak vest. big news! I've also been working on my nerf guns....the long shot and my recon.
Theres a nice picture for yeah...the neither are done....but just to give you an idea of what I'm going for. Well I'm off to work. Thanks for reading I'll post again soon.
Updates to come!!
Happy Hunting!

Hey everyone!! lots of updates so I'm just gonna jump into them. OKay sooo as you saw or need to go see the photos from SnowCon 2010, Maine. We meant up with Wampa Squad and kicked ass at the tiny gaming con. Now the whole point of going to snowcon was to meet Wampa Squad in person, which was awesome! All really nice people!
Though it was a five hour drive up and back. We stopped in Portland to see our friend, she goes to college up there. It was nice seeing her again. :3
SO for those of you who aren't on the Mecrs. some new standards for the costumes. One is about Nerf guns, they need to be moded. I've wokring on mine for the past two days. Lots of bondo over things and what not. Need to let them dry and then i'll sand them and take some photos.
I need to make a list of all the costumes i'm currently working on at this time.
Mara Jade
Endor rebel fighter
Rebel Fleet Trooper
Jedi robes (comission)
Zelda
2nd kit - female tusken raider
I purchased all of the items i need to make the shin guard cast of mara jade. I'm just waiting for the weather get abit warmer out. THeres no heat in the garrage and thats where i do most of my heavy work. I think my next task its to work on the rebel fleet trooper helmet. must purchase bike helmet to start off with,
What makes this hard is that their cutting my hours at work and with Anime Boston coming up in April i need all the money I can get. Though I have maxed out the room with people so its really cheap.
well until next time
happy hunting!

This is after the new paint job. I left the rocket damaged. I'm not to worried about it at the moment. Maybe after Snow Con I'll take the time to fix them. Yes I know close up the key pad is warped, again I'm not to worried. Its on the inside on my arm so not many people will see it. I do plan on re-doing it.
I do enjoy how my weathing came out. It was cold in the garage when i painted this, which worked in my favor. I love that rough texture the paint forms when it gets cold. LOVE it. I'm really happy with the paint job.
So everything is ready for SnowCon. Can't wait for that five four car ride! XD

My new gauntlets came in the mail yesterday and I am not very happy with them.
I like the shape and everything but I asked for youth size and they didn't fit me.
though I do plan on re doing the whole thing. So I guess i could thank the ebay seller. But i don't know. Being small in size it is hard to purchse things online. Because something just will not fit.
I did ask for 'battle damaged' but this wasn't what i wanted. ....
These are my new gloves. No more fingerless gloves, so everyone can stop complaining about it. I'm not to worried about the Jedi getting my finger prints while I'm running around in bright yellow one of a kind armor.
Again I do plan on repainted the guantlets.

Happy New year everyone!!!!
I'm been planning on some new projects and I've finally made the list. I'm working on some new pistols, made from nerfs guns, I'll be making a mold and re-casting them in resin. Then some detail work to call them my own. I'm redoing my Female tusken raider and hopfully getting into the 501st or Rebel Legion with it. You already know about Mara Jade. No new updates with the shin gaurds. I'm also working on a Zelda costume. Thats right something that isn't Star Wars. hahaa!
My new holsters for my pistols.
